Welcome to the Insurance Women of Fresno’s (IWOF) web-site. We
hope that this site will continue to provide information and resources
that will be helpful to our members and others in the insurance industry
community for many years to come.
A new term is up and running. Please check out the new officers,
directors and committee chairs for the 2007/2008 term. Karen
Anderson conducted her first board meeting on July 5th, 2007 since
being installed last month as President. As expected, the meeting
ran smoothly so we’re sure she’ll do the association
proud for the next year.
If you or someone you know is interested in getting more involved
in the community around you, please contact us. Whether you
are looking for educational opportunities, employment referrals or
just looking for some other adults with common interests to network
and spend time with, IWOF may just be the place for you. Following
are statements made by a few of our members (including our newly
installed President):
Karen Anderson, AIS, ASLI, CPIW - President
As a member of Insurance Women of Fresno I have grown professionally
and personally due to my experiences as chairing committees, being
on the Board of Directors, and going up the chairs to be the President
of the Association in 2007. My insurance knowledge has expanded
due to the exposure to individuals with a wide variety of experience
and knowledge of different types of insurance and different job
responsibilities. By continuing my membership with Insurance
Women of Fresno I know that I will continue to grow.
Kathleen Soares, CIC, AAI, AIS - Board of Directors and
Education Co-Chair
In 2004, I joined the Insurance Women of Fresno - it has been a wonderful
experience and I have met a really terrific group of women. This
association takes an active part in the community - working for MADD,
the Welfare to work program and the Spirit of Women and Children
programs, among others. We are also active in education for
our members and the insurance community, something I personally have
become involved in and am proud of. I highly recommend that
anyone interested in becoming an insurance professional join this
association.
Cathy Temple, AIS, CPIW - Treasurer and Education Co-Chair
In 2002, I became a member of this organization. From the
beginning, the members have been available to mentor, encourage & support
my endeavors. Education has been the most important part of
this organization for me. I have completed the INS series,
achieved the AIS designation, earned the CPIW designation and continue
to add credits for the CE requirements needed to maintain the California
State License. Since joining this organization I have gained
many friends and look forward to the times that we share.
